I used to live on 21st and Broadway. Nobody sits in Madison Square Park, unless they are at the dog run. That's packed for that park. Obviously, a very popular big head.

I guess I have a different take on Madison Park since I go there to sit on a summer evening whenever I'm in the city. But...that head was an odd addition to the park. I remember it gave a sense of calmness to me, but also seemed to be something of a stunt. I was basically neutral. But whatever its merits, the experience of viewing it in a tree-filled park with skyscrapers all around is going to be profoundly different at our more barren, wind-swept facility.

you cannot see mt. olympus from the seattle waterfront.

it is hidden behind the eastern peaks and the bailey range.

hell, it's hard to see from hurricane ridge!

good idea though.

@5, nice, except you're thinking of Dick Solomon on 3rd Rock.

Get well soon, Jen.

That thing is going to be a magnet for taggers and graffiti bombers.

Yet another discarded lawn ornament dumped on our otherwise beautiful park.

In a recent visit to the sculpture park, I found myself thinking that the once grand vision has somehow lost its groove. I hope the trend does not continue or that the vision can be recaptured. If it is truly dumping stuff from high end collectors, that would be a shame.

Please wait...
