As a clarification, neither photo here was taken during this project; these are from Dawoud's Emory Project. Also, the works now at UWT were acquired via a process facilitated by ArtsWA (the Washington State Arts Commission), driven by an incredible UWT-led community effort.
Dawoud was the perfect artist to work with UWT - a university community dedicated to building connections between diverse communities. He is a gracious, thoughtful person and was the perfect match for the university's ambitions. I'm glad you heard about it -- as far as I know, it's the only permanent installation of his work in a public place.
