Its still close, she won by 1% that is close. Not super close but close.
2
George W Bush claimed a mandate with 50.7% of the vote. Sawant might just get there.
3
why don't you cover the bellevue city council race between uber transit bashing developer kevin wallace and community organizer steve kasner? 197 vote lead for wallace. kasner would be swing vote on many bellevue decisions.
4
@ 2 Yep he did, and boy did that work out for him.
5
Of course, the Sawant-Conlin race only had 212 ballots counted today and the percentages in Sawants favor of that was still about 60-40, like it was Monday when 4042 ballots were counted.

There were also 259 votes added to the Mayor's race. Murray surged back from 43% on Monday to 47% today.
6
@3

Why? It's called myopia. Stay on the Socialist bandwagon, Comrade.
7
Sorry, I missed a day in there.. Monday was probably only half that count.
8
What do they do in Seatac that gets them through only ten ballots in a day? Are they using slow machines?
9
@7

You don't have to apologize, Chef Joe. I don't think anyone reading gives a shit that you missed a day.
10
@9 probably true, but I don't need Goldy to point out how much smarter he is than me over my error. 85 votes for Conlin (who already conceded), 126 for Sawant, and 1 write in counted. I feel sad that Goldy even bothered to digest such low numbers in an already over race.

Which is why I wanted to highlight the Stranger Candidate Mike McGinn gained a full 14 votes on Ed Murray today of 259 counted. At this rate, McGinn will still be pedaling home with his tail between his legs but let's poke the coals anyways.
11
wow it takes an awfully long time for you folks in WA to count votes. Now if you enacted onerous voter id laws like a good American Red State you'd have had the votes counted weeks ago.
12
@8 King County Elections counts the ballots. There are very few left (mostly challenged ballots that are being cured), and SeaTac represents only a tiny percentage of the overall ballots, thus the tiny number of ballots counted there today.
13
@11 That was funny!

@12 Thanks.

@10 Goodness, ChefJoe, you poor thing! I remember reading Goldy write that he's smarter than you, and as someone who has never met either you or Goldy (as far as I know), I'd say he's absolutely right, he is way smarter than you. But besides that, if that's something you're bringing up now, you really are pathetic. Please, go be a warm person, go be nice to others, and make a couple of friends.
14
Your concern is touching seatackled.

But given Goldy's inability to point to any Sawant statement about Preschool support and his erroneous belief that Preschools are held to the standards of educational classrooms, I'm not buying that.
15
Is Sawant leading Conlin by 3,008 votes? That's hard to believe. Maybe I misread Goldy's post.
16
Tis true sarah70 (according to King County's vote tabulators).

90286 Conlin
93294 Sawant
661 Write-In

If only some more of those 205,661 who voted for Mayor had actually felt their vote mattered in the Council races and participated, who knows. Current counts for the Council Position 2 race are 184,241 votes cast out of 214,773 ballots scanned/processed. 86% for the council races vs the 96% filling in bubbles for Mayor.
17
@13

but seatackled, you're like low shelf IQ. Not the person I would trust as a judge of who is smarter than one another.
18
Jesus fucking Christ. Remember when Slog wasn't mostly trolls?
19
@18: This quibbling over the ballot drops and percentages on races that are already over is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen on Slog.

I really wish Goldy and ChefJoe would stop their little man-child slapfighting over this garbage.
20
@19

That's capitalism, for you. People want to talk about what they want to talk about. And The Stranger obliges. You may call it stupid but SLOG calls it very profitable.
21
@14 - No really, seatackled@13 is totally on the money. Your insistence to the contrary is cute though.

@17 - Jesus, the irony

@18 - Do you include the stuff Charles posts in that indictment? Cuz if so, I might have to disagree with you.

Please wait...
