Feminism has always had trouble reconciling the gay male part of the equation. Especially the versions that equate rough consensual sex with rape or sexual objectification in all it's forms with oppression (feminists against porn are a great example).
I'll put it in the file of things that constitute General Progress without being at all tasteful - my classic example of this used to be wanting There to be a Same-Sexer Week on Love Connection, not that I'd ever go or want to see a friend on such a programme.
I'd call the title as vile a phrase as "beautified", but would not want the company I'd be keeping.
I'm happy Young Red was able to express his lust, and that those who share his interest have someone to thank.
The concept is cute—and maybe even "important"—but since I'm repelled by the sonics, the stance, and the subject, it was not enjoyable. Reminds me of Sir Mix-a-Lot's anthem (same reaction on all fronts, incidentally).
Musically, this is the inferior to dropping a fork on the floor. The intention is still to make music, isn't it? Or has that too, become passé, and we just ironically smirk at the thought of a "song". Lyrically, it managed just a little better, which isn't any praise.
Now I see he's from Houston. But is that really any excuse?
@GasparFagel #27, I live in the 713. When our musicians hit, they hit it clear out of the park (Beyonce, Nate Cole, Robert Earl Keen, Kenny Rogers, ZZ Top, Blue October) and when they miss, boy howdy do they ever miss.
Finally, an example that eschews misogyny in favor of....misandry? Oh fuck it, it glorifies objectification— sweet! Finally, rap has achieved its theorized egalitarianism. Ears up, bitches (male or female).
It's quite funny but really, I can't stand the aural aspect of it. What what in the butt was audible ; this is not, sadly.
Oh, and this feminist has nothing against equal objectification. Constant objectification of females is sooo boring. Male objectification is a breath of fresh air.
If you hate chrome you can find extensions that do the same thing for Safari and Firefox. I used to use ClickToFlash for Safari.
thank you.
This video and song are hilarious.
I'll take What What over this. I haven't heard rap this slow, deliberate and tortured since the first round of white rappers in the 90s.
