I'm foreign-born myself, but I had no idea that 1 in 5 Seattleites were as well. I would have guessed a much smaller percentage. I grew up speaking English so I had no language barrier to overcome when I moved to the US, but most immigrants do struggle with language in the first generation. Always have. This is a great service, and sounds like it is much needed if we have that many immigrants in the city.

In Colorado, it was probably Christian bigots who wouldn't let a Muslim girl play soccer. Though to be fair, it was probably true Christian values in most cases that motivated all of her teammates to wear hijabs for their next game.

What this means in practical terms is the immigrant/refugee bureaucracy advocates for more refugee resettlement, resulting in need for more bureaucracy, and on and on. The question that will ever be asked is, What number of immigrants/refugees is too high? Apparently not 1 in 5. 1 in 4? 1 in 3? Or should this be unregulated like the libertarian open borders corporate whores want it?
