Good God. I have a kook relative who is, or was, working, or volunteering, in one of these places. Zero medical training, not even basic knowledge, but oh, yeah, "we'll refer them to a doctor if we see anything that needs attention", which is frankly a terrifying thing to hear. And their sole mission is to redirect away from abortion. Just horrible.

The the current Vatican resident calls it an "unspeakable crime" but you were oozing with praise earlier on in the SLOG feed.

Or is it just generally accepted that the typical reader has a memory that extends for about 2 hours....

@3 - It's possible to praise a person for one thing and hold them in contempt for another thing. I know you're used to people holding you in unwavering contempt, but other people are more nuanced than you.

It's good to be occasionally reminded that, at least for now, Google is a beneficent overlord.

Sort of like when someone says "it's complicated" meaning I'm going to violate every rule I've ever uttered, and do what I want, in a completely hypocritical fashion.

Oh, but who am I to criticize. I'm sure these people are all eventually going to solve world hunger with stem cells and pollution using LiON batteries or else in some super secret "nuanced" way that only they (you) can understand.

I just finished writing a paper on reproductive services access and legislation, so I've done a lot of googling of phrases like, "number of abortions performed last year," etc. Let me tell you, the ratio of nonsense to actual information is about 1:1. Most of it is pretty easy to identify right off the bat, but some groups have clearly been working hard to make it LOOK like they're actually offering legit info and services. What a fucking shitshow.

How can so many voters be so ignorant as to think the republicans will help them get ahead and prosper in the richest country in the world? They appeal to the ignorant and poor persons in the south, many of them can't read and they also switch district boundries for educated wealthier persons to minimize the real intelligent vote as opposed to the dumb limbaugh listener vote.
