I do love Bumbershoot. Only downside is that it means summer's about over.
2
I couldn't care less about the other days, but Sunday has Bootsy and Mission of Burma.
3
not a very impressive list. Think I will pass this year.
4
Pretty underwhelming lineup. Done with buying the 3-day pass.
5
Not what I was expecting . Bootsy is the only one worth wading the crowds for .
6
Wu Tang? Shit. I gotta diversify my bonds.
7
Bobby Womack is god.

I saw Jonathan Richman at Bumbershoot a long time ago - 2000? 2001? He was great of course. Anyway, if anyone else remembers the year (or knows if there's some online Bumbershoot archive of previous years' acts) I'd appreciate knowing it.

Bumbershoot has gotten away from highlighting the Heavy Guitar bands at Memorial Stadium and also have fewer of those types of bands period:(--I remember Motorhead around 2000 or 2001 at the Stadium as well as the Sex Pistols and Ramones back around 96,97. Are they sacred of offending the family crowd?

Pretty nice lineup! Now let's just cross our fingers that it doesn't rain on the return of newly-configured Memorial Stadium as mainstage

@7 You got that right
12
worse than capitol hill block party's lineup. is rain fest the best seattle can do?
13
Feels like their target demographic is in their mid-fourties...not that that's a bad thing, just always felt bumbershoot was a bit more cutting edge.

@12 - Funny...after years of going to the CHBP and skipping Bumbershoot, this is the first year I have zero interest in the Block Party and am actually excited about the Bumbershoot line up. Must be a generational thing.

@8 - I saw Richmand play Bumbershoot in 2000. That was the same year that the Murder City Devils opened for Motorhead. It was pretty great.
15
goddaaaaaaaaamn, Negativland is playing

I never thought I'd actually have a chance to see them

Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas - great band, can't wait to see them again

Please wait...
