I remember Tommy! It was at the Moore theater. Bette Midler played the Acid Queen and Tommy’s mother, as I recall. She was quite energetic.

Imagine if a neutron bomb was dropped on South Lake Union. Seattle wouldn't see the sun for years. Not because it would be blocked by a cloud of nuclear fallout-- rather, it would be living in the shadow of Paul Constant's stratospheric erection that does us in.

I buy all my books from BLMF and thrift shops

I'm puzzled by the Amazon phone thingy. If you take pictures with it, and they're stored in Amazon's cloud, how do you get at them if you switch phones at the end of your contract and get a (better) different phone? Anyone reading this can probably tell I don't have a smart phone; I barely have a cell phone -- mine folds in half (friends laugh at me, yes) and I only have it because my brother insisted I needed it in case of emergency. I think I'm supposed to be able to take pictures, but I don't know how that works. So, getting back to my question, what happens to the photos in the amazon cloud? Do they charge you a disconnection fee to retrieve your own pictures, or what?

I ordered 5 things from Amazon Prime today. Life is sweet!

Hachette should go all the way and raise capital to complete with Amazon at every level.

Use something like Adobe Digital Editions and sell direct to the customer on Android, OSX, Windows and other devices.

Re: Amazon phone, granted I only read the linked review, but I don't see any real benefit outside of easier shopping for folks who already buy most things from Amazon. Not surprising I suppose, but the brazenness of it turns me off.
@5, I'm guessing that if you switched phones, you could either backup your images to your own computer or continue to use the Amazon cloud (for a fee) with your new device.

Tomorrows SLOG headline; Paul Constant Found Dead in Bizarre Auto-Erotic Asphyxiation Death While Covered in Polaroid Photos of Jeff Bezos.

@8 - Okay, thanks. That's sort of what I was thinking -- especially the part where Amazon continues to get a fee.

That human shields comment is timed so incredibly bad with all the shit going down in Gaza...Jesus. I don't often hope for people to lose their jobs, but in this case I'll make an exception.

You can download whatever you put into Amazon's cloud drive: https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive

Pics uploaded from the fire phone don't count against the storage so it will always be free for you to download them to any location.

Hey Paul, still no luck finding a new hobby I see?

Nice rewrite of the Seattle Opera ad copy - sounds almost like the original. With chief Jenkins cheerleader Melinda Bargreen is the author, this is sure to be a pageturner.
