It wasn't long ago someone like Campfield would have become a party leader and favorite for higher office in Tennessee. I don't know enough about their politics to say whether it's truly a measure of social progress that he's gone, or if he was booted because he's abrasive and ineffective. It might be the latter which isn't as good news as if it were the former.

The saddest part of that story? 632 people looked at Victoria Jackson and said, sure, she's the most qualified, let's vote for HER!

Pope_Buck_1: You have to guess that a portion of those 632 people picked her because they didn't know who any of the candidates were and just picked her name because they like the name "Victoria" and/or it was vaguely familiar. I hope so, anyway.

We're talking about Tennessee, not known for it's educated voters. Victoria! Oh yeah, the catalogue that I get in the mail and hide in the outhouse, gotta vote for her! She's probably a republican, gotta be good. The republican voter base is this sort of person, no teeth, no insurance, no job, listens to limbaugh every day and actually believes what he says! Keep it up republicans, you will lose another election cycle by appealing to these people.
