(The following is a generalization; you'll live.)

The group which most needs the argument is the one that sees "gun rights" as explicitly enshrined in the Constitution and sees "abortion rights" as judicial overreach by activist judges. Exhibit "A," most of my family: "The word abortion isn't anywhere in the constitution!!!"

@4 "...the word abortion isn't in the Constitution...." True, but the Constitution makes it abundantly clear that civil rights are not limited strictly to the items that the Constitution specifically names and/or delineates. Pretty clever, huh?

@4 Birth control isn't specifically spelled out in the bible, either, but it can constitute a religious belief. But only if your against it.

Before an hour ago, I couldn't have named one good thing to come out of Alabama off the top of my head, except maybe Helen Keller.

There's the Blind Boys. And Rosa Parks. And Martin Luther King Jr., in a sense - sure, he's from Atlanta and went to school in Boston, but he became an activist and a leader in Alabama.

Mind you, all those good things I've named are self-evidently responses to the viler aspects of Alabama.
