Malay Satay Hut also had the best soup. The roti with coconut curry sauce and chunks of potato was so delicious. We were hoping the Malay in Wallingford was the same owner.
Neither Manao Thai Street Eats or Little Uncle can hold a candle to the our dear departed Thai Curry Simple. Plus Thai curry simple was suuuuper cheap!
Normally, I won't complain about price (because I get that Cap Hill rents are outrageous) but $10 Pad Thai at both Manao and Little Uncle is pretty god damn outrageous. For lunch. C'mon, it's frigg'n rice noodles.
@5/6/7: The Thai Curry Simple in the ID was the first one, I think; the one on Madison was always short-term, since it was in that former drive-up coffee stand that was destined for a tear-down (the new building there now is especially hideous). Then they opened one in South Lake Union for a while too; not sure when that closed.
The people at TCS are really nice, and at their place in the ID, you can buy their curry mixes to make at home, too—super-spicy and great.
What do you think of Garam Masala in the U Dist?

They catered our wedding, at ConWorks (also RIP). At least Rockaraoke, our band, is still kickin'...
