Do they still have customer parking at Ike's?
2
One word: EZELL'S.
3
So it has become apparent that the second this place opened your entire office emptied out as you all ran over there with your "story ideas" that all started "First, I'll get really fuckin' wasted, and then". Awaiting further articles on Where To Buy Tic Tacs Near Ike's, Back Street Driving Routes FOR Driving Back From Ike's While Stoned, Excuses For Missing Work That Your Boss Will Believe And High People Can Remember, Write Your Address Down So You Can Remember Where You Live, etc.

There's a new place called Sam's Morroccan Sandwiches that's over by where the Post Office used to be, by the laundromat. Looks interesting.
5
What about the Kingfish Café on E 19th, or is that considered Capitol Hill bourgeois as opposed to hipster stoner?
6
Also, Central Cinema on 21st & E. Union if you're too lazy to go home & throw on a DVD. Kate's on 22nd & E. Union if you're just looking for a cup of joe to take the edge off your mellow. Union Market at 21st & E. Union for take-out teriyaki and, apparently, burgers. And of course, Chuck's on 22nd & E. Union for food-truck-of-the-day and growlers to quaff while you enjoy your buzz.

@5:

Kingfish, while delicious, is not exactly close-by, although I imagine you could work up serious munchies in the 20 minutes or so it would take to get there from Uncle Ike's.
8
what dr0q said.

everybody knows Ezells' fried chicken is the shizz but pack that potato salad in your smoke hole. nom nom nom.
9
@1 - There is parking at Ike's.

And at Ezell's, where I went for lunch after taking photos at Ike's. Mmmmmm!
10
@6: It's called Katy's, not Kate's, and it's 20th and Union, not 22. ;)
11
And come to think of it, Chucks is at 20th and Union, too.
12
The map is wrong. Uncle Ike's is on the North EAST corner of 23rd & Union... right next to the Neighbor Lady. And not the North West corner, where the 76 gas station is.

Where to get even more hopped up after you smoke your frop? Try the liquor store across 23rd.
Get crunk, stoner.

RIP Med Mix, the otherwise beloved food store that was damaged by arson, and then screwed over by the landlord who preferred the pot store to the falafal shop.

@10:

Yes, I know, I know, sometimes autospell has a mind of it's own. But thanks for the concern-trolling.
14
Hell with Ezell's and the over priced (and delicious I might add) yardbird - go to the Moonlight Café on 20th and Rainer. Pho and weed are hand in glove.
15

Were people voicing their concerns 4 years ago when the two white ladies opened their bakery in the exact same location? Is there something particularly gentrifying about pot? I would assume that my black neighbors hold a higher demand for a bag of weed than they do a bag of scones, but I suppose I'm out of touch.

16
@15, do you even realize how racist your comment is that your black neighbors hold higher demand for a bag of weed than a bag of scones? Black people don't smoke weed or do drugs at any higher rate than the rest of the population, and I love a fucking scone.
17

Where did this map even come from? They spelled Martin Luther King wrong for Christ's sake.

Union Market has great authentic tacos as well as good Chinese food and burgers. Haven't tried Sam's yet. If you're buying weed of a weekend then you need to go to Cafe Selam at 27th and Cherry afterwards for the city's best foul.

Please wait...
