Surrender, Dorothy.

It's over.

What about Oregon? Doesn't Oregon fall under the same circuit?

This should come as a huge surprise by absolutely nobody.

Wait! Wait! Idaho and Nevada can appeal to the Supreme Court!
5
@2: Oregon is already resolved, there was no appeal.

Ruling also applies to Alasksa, Arizona, and Montana

Arizona, too????

Oh boy, the glassy-eyed, tongue-talking, Christo-fascist lunatics are gonna be bouncing off their rubber walls tonight.

Hee hee! This was a particularly brutal response offered by the court that was quite enjoyable to read. It's been fun watching Utah lose its collective shit, now to add Arizona and Idaho to the mix.....now That's Entertainment!

I've been searching Oregon's government website to find out if same sex marriages are allowed. It's a little hard to tell, but the online form for applying for a marriage license has a "sex" option and uses "Party A" and "Party B" rather than "Husband" and "Wife" so I imagine it is (as Wikipedia implies).

It demonstrates how this is a relaxation of a restriction rather than some new right. Previously I imagine it said somewhere that one participant had to be a man and the other a woman, but now it simply doesn't say.

And as of this morning, Justice Kennedy has granted Idaho a temporary stay; one step back, two steps forward.

Please wait...
