That Ferrari dealership is going to have to take a long look at its history of racial oppression as it cuts a deductible check to the insurance company.

Take that oppression!
2
Correct and sensible Ferguson protests are being co-oped and thus lost to a message of violent overthrow of capitalism. It's a great tragedy that we lose to those who continue to murder black youth just because we can't stay focused on that problem.
3
@2: there's so much that's protestable that it's hard to keep focus. I just hope no children cried when the Ferrari windows broke.

because that would invalidate their message.
4
@ 3, there was a message in breaking the Ferrari dealership's windows? Color me surprised. I thought it was just vandalism posing as revolution.
5
@4 You are correct, sir.
6
I don't have a fucking clue why someone would break or even set fire to a Ferrari - drive one long enough and it will do the same thing on it's own.
7
@4: consumption something capitalism something inequality something corporatism.

I can see why they'd smash a luxury-goods store window. there aren't many alternative targets in pike/pine. except the police precinct.

Half those black mask people are employees of government and/or private security agencies. If I had the billions the Koch brothers have, it would cost me less than the equivalent of the amount of money I pay for a latte to keep a national army of these people going for a year.

Hey, if you read about the background of Furgeson, it is a clear case of racism and class oppression working together that makes it so volatile. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-w…
9
@8 And by Koch brothers, I'm really referring not to the Koch brothers per se, but to all the billionaires and entities that have access to that level of resources the make this and other kinds of perception manipulation so relatively cheap to carry out.
10
@8 Go on...I'd love to see your proof of this fascinating governmental conspiracy.
11
Specifically antagonizing the police (eg. middle-fingers, yelling obscenities at them, etc.) is an inchoate & mindless tactic that doesn't result in either (a) the change desired, or (b) winning allies.

But of course, these ideas are completely lost on those doing the antagonizing.
12
@10 The masked people *never* get arrested and tried, let alone convicted. They are left to break and destroy with impunity. Then later on, the police step in and round up some people. Happens every time...for years. They aren't even trying to catch any of these people destroying shit.
13
@11 humble petitioning has given the people of Furgeson and St. Louis county an entrenched system of oppression. No one investigated it or questioned it at a meaningful level until the massive military crackdown on the protestors got more people asking why do black citizens down there care so much that they are willing to face such a force to be heard.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-w…

"eg. middle-fingers, yelling obscenities at them, etc." are constitutionally protected righta, but the only right you care about the right for white people to carry guns because they are frightened of the boogie man in their souls or are just insecure bullies. I have a very clear idea about which right scares me more as currently defined.
15
@10 me too.

@8 I'd love to see the proof that would support that 50% of the 100 or so anarchists were police or seeeeekrit agents.

That means there were at least 40-50 agents provocateur at that protest. Golly. What seeeekrit government agency is paying all that overtime, I wonder?

Do provocateurs exist? Sure. But everybody claims they are present and rarely does anybody have any proof. Which makes them basically an inert claim and an attempt to shirk responsibility by lazy leftists.

I mean c'mon? HALF? That is an absurd spurious claim just waiting to batted down.

It's a well researched fact that all you need is maybe one agent provocateur in a nest of 100-200 radicals to suggest to them to do stupid shit. Because most anarchist radicals are stupid as shit. They are already primed to do stupid shit. The FBI found out it's easy because the personality profiles and psychology of cops and radicals are nearly identical.

That is why violent radicals nearly always fail, because they are stupid as fuck and can be turned on themselves so easily or just end up destroying shit and can't build anything.

Gandhi and Martin Luther King insisted on strict non-violence in part to neutralize the effects of extremists and provocateurs.

Nah. Anarchists are, by and large, the least effective, stupidest, most lazy and entitled political movement in existence. They justify every failure by claiming they were "infiltrated."

And in world where the Tea Party exists, that's saying something.

@15 Ok, an exageration. What I want to see is some proof that police really want to catch these people in the act. We are 40 years into seeing that they don't, the only good explanation being because it forces the unmasking of their employees and allies. Over that time we have had ongoing exposes of security forces employing provocateurs in various movements. We've seen prosecutors imprison "anarchists" who weren't at protests or ever charged with a crime for refusing to give information itself with no relation to any crimes, but we never see them arrest and prosecute "black mask" group members for crimes committed in the field. I'm waiting... I keep expecting to be proved wrong, or at least have a chance to say that "its a show trial" to protect their undercover operatives, but we never see arrests at all, and that never seems strange to anyone but me, so I guess we never will get any arrests or attempt to catch "black mask" people in the act.

17
Ok, an exageration.

No. It was a bold faced lie. If you can only exist on lies and anecdotes then you have nothing to contribute.

But I'll indulge you. First your claim there are no arrests is laughably and provably wrong. There are arrests. (http://q13fox.com/2014/05/02/may-day-sta…)

But anyway let's say there were at least two agents provocateurs in that crowd of 100 protestors - which of course we have no evidence there were ANY. If you're an anarchist you also would assume there are provocateurs infiltrating your group, right? So two guys got sixty people to be idiots.

Guess what? That means if your tactics, aims and ideology are so befouled by a couple completely expected seeekrit agents then you are total FAILURES.

If a movement can't account for that and have any success - then you are a failed ideology. And there has been no success with that movement. They are a joke.

Anarchists are the hopeless Trekkies of politics. Their entire concept is a delusion made possible to contemplate because it is couched within a larger society that is NOT anarchy, a society that does all the heavy lifting for them while they live in their parents basements. If they actually HAD anarchy these morons would starve to death.
18
Almost there, guys!

The poor will rise up and perform that revolution for you any day now: All you need to do is yell at them just a little bit harder.
19
@18 no way. the poor are lazy and unwilling to do anything. that's why they're poor yo. everybody knows the rich and comfortable will be the first to change the status quo
20
@19 Actually that's somewhat true. A large portion of the poor in the US have too much to lose so like the middle class are pretty stupid and lazy and really don't want change - that's why they vote for Tea Baggers. The rich DO change the status quo - with money - if it in anyway impacts their comfort.

Where as anarchists don't do shit except sit in their parents basements and order mass produced Chinese Guy Fawkes masks on Amazon or on the rare occasion they stop playing WoW to go throw a rock through a Starbucks window.
21
@20 the poor are already in jail and the middle class are to busy paying for the prisons they'll soon get thrown in once they become poor. the anarchists just want a reason to be angry and the rich just rake it in. gotta keep our pockets full of slave owners.

Please wait...
