I hope she will run and include a nod to West Seattle's green space in her campaign. West Seattleites want less traffic (increased bus service in the present and light rail as soon as possible), more density, more commercial space and the preservation and augmentation of the West Duwamish Greenbelt and Longfellow Creek. If the city could do anything more for the plight of the Duwamish Tribe that would be pretty alright too.
There are already several interesting candidates in District 1 (two from the City Neighborhood Council). I wouldn't like to see her steamroll them. She should run in the 3rd District against Kshama Sawant. That would be an awesome battle and I could (and will) vote in it.
@6 Lisa is a West Seattle resident and the District system has strict residency requirements. It's D1 or at-large for her. If we had Lisa Herbold versus Tim Burgess it would be a breathtaking battle.
Often you'll find a long-standing pol who has an earnest hard-working junior flak doing all the real work behind the scenes, with the boss getting credit.
Considering whiner-in-residence Licata got a strictly limited number of meaningful things done in nearly 30 years of pension-building, promoting his First Flunky seems to set a mighty low bar for liberal activists.
Unless we're counting "Seattle Process" as an accomplishment, in which case she's a vetted expert.
Be your own candidate, do it because YOU want to do it, not because it's "Nick's work".

@12 I'm just a candid one.
