I'm relieved to see that not everybody on the Republican side is embracing Jeb Bush. Conservative political group ForAmerica has called Bush "unelectable," releasing a video to its seven million followers that shows Bush speaking fondly of Clinton at an awards banquet. ForAmerica, a group for red-meat Republicans, focuses on the attacks at Benghazi, which virtually no ordinary American associates with Clinton in a negative way at all. But even without the vague Benghazi fear-mongering, it is a little bit awkward for video to be released of the two assumptive frontrunners kissing up to each other. Here's the ad:

While I agree that this video would be highly damaging to Bush in the primaries, I also think that if Bush made it through the primaries, this video would be damaging for Clinton in the general election, too. The Bush and Clinton families have become very close over the last decade and a half. And while I think Americans would respond favorably to displays of bipartisanship in the next election, the Bush/Clinton relationship could be portrayed as veering into incestuous. Two familiar names on a presidential ballot is already likely to be a turn-off for many voters; those two wealthy families having a deep and cordial relationship, however, could push voters into complete apathy.
