Not to mention that some sex workers are compassionate and humane in giving relief to men who otherwise would have no sex, like those that have cerebral palsy and amputated limbs.
Can A&E please give "Bates Motel" to another network? Because everything else on A&E is like a complete cesspool and it'd feel really good to never have to support them in any way.
It seems to me the only purpose of this show is to give right wing christian nutjobs a massive hard-on. Illicit sex and righteous indignation, served up by an authoritarian male and backed up by massive amounts of corporate money.
I'd have a little respect for this show if his "8 minute" speech consists of "Hey, want a role in my TV show? You'll play a former sex worker I've 'rescued.' Here's the list of salary and benefits..."
I made it through about 15 minutes last night. It did seem like some sort of bizarre version of Candid Camera or Punk'd, shaming these women and showing their faces on national TV. I wouldn't watch it again.
I don't have cable, and would probably find better things to watch anyway if I did, but I would love to see someone turn him down.
Does he only call the cheap, pimped ones? I keep thinking of Belle's intro monologue from Secret Diary of a Call Girl, how she talked about doing it because she loved sex and was fundamentally lazy.
Years ago I worked with a hooker, waitressing in a small restaurant. She was thinking of getting out of the life, got herself a straight job. She quit after two weeks - she was working a lot harder, taking just as much shit from the customers, and making terrible money.

I can't imagine that they don't also have Law Enforcement Officers standing by, so there's the added threat of prosecution if she doesn't comply with their "come to Christ, girl" narrative. And salary/benefits, why that would imply that these encounters are "scripted", and that would never happen on a reality show, my word.
All those "reality" shows are massively edited.

Sex work is, first, work - a job.
