Probably the best sources from all what happened that night, and What Osama bin Laden did in the years before his death, is just interview his three wives that lived with him, and other adult survivors of the night of the raid...

The idea that the raid that resulted in Osama's death was the result of quid pro quo and was not Hollywood glamorous or that the administration would have played it up doesn't surprise me at all. Very believable.

You left out that Hersh claims OBL was in some kind of Pakistani custody waiting for the right circumstances to produce him rather than hiding in plain sight as was claimed.

Disappearing the body before anyone could independently verify certainly seems odd given the need to stamp out any velleity of "he is still alive and the fight goes on".

People dismissing Hersh with a sleight of hand are nuts given the massive evidence for deceitful propaganda from all sides.

Other than the vaccination program, who gives a shit? When I read the headline, I was expecting some bullshit about the guy dying of natural causes or still being alive. But either way the main facts are the same: the U. S. military killed him and no one knows where he is buried. Knowing all the details of an historic event usually takes dozens of years (when all the people involved have told their story without fear).

Of course they made up a bunch of crap to cover up the details. Pakistan certainly wouldn't admit that they cooperated -- better to complain about U. S. interference on Pakistani soil. That way they can continue trying to play both sides (not that it is working, but that is their strategy).

The only part of this that was handled poorly was the immunization idea. Whether that was true or not, someone should have thought it through and covered it up or not made it up in the first place. That was stupid. Other than that, assuming this report is true, I don't mind any of the other lies (assuming they are lies) -- it probably saved a bunch of lives (in Pakistan).

So at best you have a story about some practically meaningless details about a military/espionage action (wow, shocking -- who new the government lied about the details on such things). At worst you have a bullshit story. Who cares?

If there is any truth to his accusations, I would expect the truth to come out. I tend to view claims of anyone alleging a massive cover up with skepticism since they can point to a fact that is technically correct but completely when applied to the issue at hand. The best example most everyone is familiar with is "jet fuel can't melt steel = 9/11 was an inside job." It is true that jet fuel cannot melt steel, but as anyone who works with metal can tell you heating metal causes it to become weaker. Ergo, crash a plane into a building and set off a firestorm and the steel supports will lose between 50 and 90% of their strength.

Let's see if these claims stand up to scrutiny.
