This should include press conferences and any and all showboating that is more typical of the Murray/Burgess camp. Fair is fair.
2
If it weren't signature gathering it would be something else.

Murray and his $300,000 per annum sinecures will try any trick to keep Sawant and the masses off his fiefdom's treasury.

This is the Outsiders versus the Insiders and it is a battle that must be fought to rid ourselves of entrenched interests and old ideas.

@2

It isn't about the stupid toddler notions of socialist "thinking." versus the leftist nonsense the rest of the council espouses. It's about using the job and facilities she was elected to for tawdry politics and personal gain.

Sawant is an unintelligent hack of no redeeming value, as well as an egotistical boor. But at some level even her terminally softened mind probably ynderatands that.

But really lefty thought is fundamentally unethical and immoral so your and her failure to grasp those concepts is pathetic but understandable.

Worst mayor ever.

@3:

LOOK, THERE! EVIL PURE AND SIMPLE!

The time and distance provisions seem particularly problematic. For example, what if signature gatherers are on private property with the permission of the owner, but still within the 300 foot radius? Isn't that in direct contradiction to their First Amendment rights? It would seem far easier to simply say that no campaign-related activities shall occur on city property, and leave it at that.
8
I bet that Sawant, even after she gives up most of her salary, still has a higher income than Seattleblues.
9
Lets just let @2 and @3 duke it out for a while longer...

@8

No. Impossible. Being a good socialist surely she gives every dollar more than she 'needs' to government! Which I absolutely do not.

Right? She does, doesn't she?
11
Maybe one of Sawant's opponents should organize a similar rally in City Hall, promoting an issue that she opposes. Maybe then she would understand the problem with using public facilities for campaign purposes.

@3: You're pontificating on matters of ethics? That's funny. According to you:
• People you disagree with politically must follow the laws, even the ones they don't like. (source)
• People you agree with politically can break laws as an act of protest, so long as they are willing to face the legal consequences of such civil disobedience. (source)
• You yourself are allowed to break whatever laws you disapprove of and are under no ethical obligation to face the legal consequences. (source)
So yeah, we're being lectured on ethics by a guy who espouses a TRIPLE STANDARD for civil disobedience.

I've decided to start directly citing my statements regarding Seattleblues, so people can see exactly what he said. He's very big on making wild claims and then running away from them as a part of a larger pattern of rank hypocrisy, so I think I'll have those claims follow him. If he doesn't like this stuff being rubbed in his face, maybe he'll stop posting such ridiculous lies and self-contradictions.

If a politican this paper hates did want Sawant did, you would all be calling for charges to be filed, and everyone knows it.

Using public facilities for personal political gain is not appropriate and should not be done. I know this paper is Sawant's de facto media division, but at least try to have some semblance of integrity.
14
Ethics, Shmethics! If Sawant really had her way, she'd have most of you trundled off to Gulag ... until eventually, as these things go, they came for her too.
15
Well at least she'd nationalize all the software bros along the way...
16
You can have as much speech as you want, provided you're a 1% or a corporation- the rest are serfs

Woo hoo!
Cowardly capitalist curs -- they can't argue for their false "ideas" openly!
So they try to silence us when we fight for true socialist ideas!
But it won't be easy for them to suppress a 550-strong public meeting on the Seattle housing crisis.

Let's defeat the bosses, the 0.01 Per Cent!
Like we defeated them with Kshama Sawant's inspiring Socialist campaign for Seattle city council in 2013 -- let's entrench and enhance the victory in 2015 !
Like we defeated the bosses -- only partially, but nevertheless marvelously -- in the Seattle $15 minimum-wage battle!
Let's take the fight to Olympia for safe, affordable housing.
