According to Stereogum, Soundgarden/Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell will release his fifth solo album Higher Truth sometime this fall, probably in September.

Blabbermouth.net claims that he will support the record with a November/December tour of Australia and New Zealand, where Cornell will play songs from throughout his career in an "unplugged, up-close and personal setting."

Does this mean the tunes from the 2009 dud Scream will sound even more excruciating in stripped-down form?
