Well, after Dan called gay men who chose to go on Truvada for HIVPrep idiots I think it's hilarious to listen to The Stranger talk about anything medical related.

I thought something about the arguments in favor of flibanserin seemed odd, turns out the whole gender equity thing was actually just an astro-turf campaign to create the illusion of demands by women.

As for comparisons between viagra and flibanserin, Ms Richards is dead on that the comparison is misleading. The female equivalent of viagra would be KY jelly or some other lube. A better comparison as to why we have so many drugs for men vs. women would be comparing anti-inflammatory drugs (Advil, Tylenol, Aleve, etc.) to Prozac; it is much easier to treat physical pain that psychological pain.

"Well if it doesn't work, then how about we use lube like we always do? yes?", Dr. Evil

probably the best pill would be a different man.

@2 This is a great point. The other thing to note is that the discovery of Viagra's effectiveness in treating erectile dysfunction was completely accidental. I believe it was being tested as a heart medication, but the men kept reporting an odd side effect.

I'm not one for the fairer sex, but if I was, one flash of blue steel from these peepers will get her motor runnin over some big pharma snake oil ANY DAY. Try hanging my campaign poster above your bed for best effect.

Well yes, Beady Eyes of Mayor Ed Murray, that would be true were it not for the fact that screaming people is a major buzzkill.

"and that drug companies aren't actually interested in women’s sexual concerns. "

How shocking.
