On halloween - after the kiddies were done trick-o-treating - my father and mother would go door to door in the neighborhood and read from 'Green Eggs and Ham' until people gave them a shot of liquor, slammed the door, or joined in. By the end of the night it would be a dozen people drunk off their asses traipsing around drunk-yeling "Green Eggs and Ham" at doors. Eventually the cops would escort everybody home.

What a great tradition.
