The DA says it looks like no foul play, so you know the county isn't interested in looking into this. The Texas Rangers are doing the investigation, however, so maybe that will make a difference.

Fuck the cops. They are corrupted by their unlimited power. How stupid can Americans be to let these murders continue? No civilian oversight is part of the problem. Literally getting away with murder. I believe the police across the country are infiltrated by a KKK/White Supremacist movement...these murders are very troubling.

Law Enforcement has been caught trying to pull this shit too many times for ANYONE to just automatically assume whatever they say is the truth. Sure, sometimes it IS, but their collective track record in these matters is far too poor to simply give them the benefit of the doubt. We need a policy whereby EVERY DEATH that occurs in a situation where LE is involved is immediately and automatically handed over to an independent investigator, preferably at the federal level, with the authority to review any and all materials related to the incident: tapes, written records, conduct files of officers involved - the works, AND when necessary to pursue criminal prosecution.

Maybe seeing a few score of their fellow officers frog-marched into a federal penitentiary for committing acts of murder, conspiracy, and obstruction of justice, will finally convince the rest of them that they either deal with the bad ones on their own, or risk getting hauled away themselves.

I wonder if they ran her plates and knew full well who she was. Is that possible?

That seems doubtful. She wasn't that well-known. I think all that mattered to the cop was that she was an uppity black woman.

Sheriff was previously suspended and then fired as police chief for racism. Then the county elected sheriff.

My theory is that she died the same way Natasha Richardson did; from a delayed reaction to the blow she received to the head. They found her dead in her cell, panicked and staged a suicide to cover it up.
I hope her family gets a full autopsy and I hope they sue the shit out of those responsible.

@13 No. There is no link between concussions and suicide. However, there is mountains of evidence of non-treated concussions resulting in death.

And even more evidence of cops killing black people and along with the DA, covering it up.
