Seriously Slog? Even the Capitol hill blog was all over the shootings yesterday. The only thing posted between Friday and Monday was an Elvis comic and a snarky (even by Slog standards) post about firing Free Will Astrology. What is happening over there!? We all want the weekend off but that doesn't mean shit stops happening. Lazy.

@8, Slog's description of the story does not mention the ethnicity of the shooter/shooters. Neither did the written report on komo.com (I didn't bother with the video). Are you getting this information from a different source?

Poor me, I'm old enough to remember the 90's when the Baltic Room wasn't a shit hole full of drunken thugs. For a little while it had a piano, no liquor, friendly staff, and adult customers. Then one day they got a booze license and replaced the staff with sneering tattood pretty boys. Once I saw a fat bouncer smash a drunk's head with a mag lite out on the sidewalk. When I heard about the shooting location I was like WTF? and then I thought "Oh, the Baltic Room is there, that figures." Fuck the Baltic Room.

@5 It's not just the summer, Slog has significantly decreased it's output over the last couple years, in addition to giving up on weekends. They've lost many good writers and the new ones are far from prolific. It's disappointing because it used to be so great.

So racist, so fast. Color isn't mentioned anywhere in this article. And, for the record, black lives matter under any and all circumstances. A person is now dead - he was a son, and maybe a brother, cousin or uncle. What a dark, angry headspace to exist in if your thoughts go to "they deserved it" or "the world is better off..." I feel incredibly sad for you if that's how you really feel. A little compassion can go a long way, but simply not being an ignorant asshole can go a lot further.

SLOG used to cover breaking news like this when it happened in the "2-block-radius", but since the mass exodus of writers and the shift to more cliclbait articles they stopped.

@12, what in the stupendous fuck are you talking about? The Baltic Room has different music nights throughout the week, and thus host different crowds. Good on them for always having a diverse range of music acts. It's not their fault if a tiny fraction of assholes decide to do stupid shit outside their club.
