I miss Earth.

I'd prefer Trump as president to any of those other GOP creeps.

Trump cant match Bush or Walker or Cruz for studious, deliberate malevolence.

The full Tweet:

Boston incident is terrible.

We need energy and passion, but we must treat each other with respect.

I would never condone violence.

Trump is what both extremist sides fear, and something I've wanted for a long time.

A Republican who concentrates purely on economic issues, and leaves the social conservatism for the entertainment magazines like Huffpo.

I'm firing up my popcorn maker
6
We smart people turn a blind eye toward how incredibly illiterate and intolerant most acutal Americans are, and it is at our peril. Trump is winning because he yells racism, intolerance, and an incoherent embrace of anti-intellectualism.
7
@6 And because folks are so damn tired of political correctness.
8
what fucking planet am I on?
9
The democratic dream is Trump mounting an independent run after not securing the nomination.

Of course, in other news, 100% chance Trump can't pass a drug test
10
538 gives Trump a 2% chance of getting the nomination. Scott Adams thinks The Donald will actually win the general. But we all know that Nate Silver is a smart cookie and Scott Adams just loves to stir the pot.
Oh yeah, I have internet in Texas now. Yeehaw!

@10: wachadoin in Texass venomlash? Did you move?
12
No way. It's all a smoke screen to make sure Jeb! doesn't do or say anything that could hurt his chances OVER A YEAR FROM NOW. It will be Clinton vs. Bush.
13
I suspect that Trump may be a "Grenade" candidate thrown at the GOP by the Clinton camp to derail Jeb's campaign. My gut tells me that Jeb, through his elite connections, will hustle and mack his way, hook or by crook, to the republican candidacy.
14
A poll of likely Republican voters? Why, I can't think of better informed group to take cues from on social and political issues!
15
@6, I tend to agree. And we should keep in mind the probable nominee for the Democrats isn't going to motivate the base of the party. Laugh now all you want but I think the chances of a Trump Presidency are greater than we want to think about. Voters when they don't like anyone tend to stay home on election day. And Trumps supporters won't be staying home: they love that piece of shit.
16
I really have a hard time believing that Trump is over six feet tall. He looks like he should be 5'6", with Napoleon syndrome. Everything about him says "little man".
17
Endorsements don't actually matter much. Because really, who votes for president based on who their senator / representative / governor / whoever chose to support? At best, endorsement count is just a straw poll of elite opinion. Money doesn't vote either, it just buys TV ads, which are becoming less relevant as the Internet, and particularly social media, captures more of people's attention. I don't think Jeb! is as well-positioned as he thinks he is.
18
@11: Yup. Going to grad school down here in Keksas.
19
@17

It matters because Senators/ Representatives/ Governors are also super delegates and thus actually have a vote in the primary.

Capitalism's Sweetest Dream: Trump as President.

The pathology couldn't get any better --or more obvious-- than tnis...
21
Wow, venomlash - how do you manage being you in Texas?
22
@21: It's wacky, I know. But there IS a shul here, and there is a local Democratic Party, and I try not to shop at Wally World when I can avoid it. I just got back from my first class, Evolution and Systematics, and my professor spent about 15 minutes of his introduction just talking about how here in the South there are a lot of people who don't believe in evolution, and how he's given up trying to argue with most people because he'd have to spend half an hour first just explaining the most basic of background, and 90% of people won't benefit in any way from understanding how evolution shapes our world.
23
Don't write Trump out for the general election. Everyone assumed Arnold couldn't win in CA too, until he did. People probably thought the same of Reagan. Of course Arnold isn't a sexist racist buffoon to the level of Trump but never underestimate a rabid mob like Trump's supporters. Especially when his opponent is likely to be either Hillary who few people are excited about or Bernie who a small number of people are extremely excited about.
24
@22 Venomlash - ha ha, one shul in all of Texas ... Well at least you have a response to the 1,000,000 people who will ask you "what church y'all go to?"

Please wait...
