And the Stranger couldn't at least have sent a photographer to the high school game? :(
2
@1: Not unless the game was on Capitol Hill.

@2

I question that premise, too. Didn't they once send someone to Oso?

@2

Oops, those were different thoughts. I meant I question whether they would have gotten to something on Capitol Hill, too.

"Kshama, you have to understand that you don’t have the history and knowledge of the African-American experience," Banks says in the KUOW debate. "You cannot speak for us."

No one candidate/elected official can know every single constituent's life experience. It's just not possible. But when candidates ARE elected, they are elected to represent everyone and to make a good faith effort to include all voices. I think Sawant has done that, over and over.

I just took a quick look at the two candidates websites. KS has statements on numerous issues, including women's rights and queer rights. I didn't see anything of the sort on PB's site. (I was looking to see if PB has a position on abortion rights.)

I did find that PB wants victims of property crimes to her Council office (after she's elected, obviously) and that she plans to have a weekly meeting with Chief O'Toole (or a representative, I guess), to go over each crime. Is that something that is in any way even feasible?

In the raindrop: a little over a year away I'd say it's Hillary's to loose but if anyone can make her do it it's Marco Rubio.

Banks has defended the statement as part of a point she was trying to make about her own work on issues affecting the black community. "Kshama, you have to understand that you don’t have the history and knowledge of the African-American experience," Banks says in the KUOW debate. "You cannot speak for us."

Ummmm, seems you speak for Silver Creek Capital Management, the Seattle landlords and the SPD according to the PACs which suppert you, Pamela Bankster!

Sorry, dearie, but you haven't walked the talk, but you sure do talk a lot!

I held my breath and started reading the comments under the Seattle Times 'Satanist' story. I was pleasantly surprised by how many people stood up for the separation of church and state, and cheered on the Satanists. Go Team Satan, Go!

$2,900/month luxury apartments for people who generally won't even be here for longer than a year? Just call it a hotel. And someone actually called it a "deal"? If that's a deal, then the market is failing us.

Documentation of identity is not required in order to board an airplane. I was arrested and jailed over this in 2009. In 2011, a jury saw through the lies and acquitted me of all charges. I sued the police and airport security guards who were involved. Last spring, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral arguments on appeal of dismissal of my lawuit.

@10: But you do draw the line on, women, children and animal sacrifices, right?
14
@5: If it doesn't happen on Capitol Hill, you won't read about it in The Stranger. (Unless their "reporters" saw the story in the Seattle Times.)
