is it intentional? permanent?
2
This reminds me to ask, what's with all the Amante pizza places all over the place? Their food seems so-so, but they have stuck around and keep expanding. Are they some front that I would be better off not asking about?
3
The blinding display is OFF. Praise, Starbucks.
4
@2, It is just so-so but the delivery mediocre pasta and somewhat reasonable prices. I know I've ordered it when I needed a starch fix and didn't care what it tasted like.
5
Nobody is in there. The place is deserted.
6
Yet another stupid chain store taking over the Hill.
7
Like Amante Pizza here in Kent...the one that's been there for 10 years?

I will say one thing...whichever Ukrainian mobster owns those has an eye for picking model class waitresses.

8
that place is always deserted.

Some asshole mini cooper owner parked within 20 ft of a marked crosswalk and Seattle is so flush with tax levy money they don't ticket that, instead letting pedestrians who use that crosswalk be obscured by parked cars ?

New stoplight?
11
There's a flat screen tv.
12
The cursed building.
13
Potential high rent basement/ground level condo space underneath? !
14
Hey Kelly O, how about simply reporting instead of leaving it as a guessing game for your readers? Newsflash: Not everyone that reads Slog lives on Capital Hill.
15
@14 *Capitol
16
their stupid fucking blinding video sign is off, meaning that someone might be spared from thinking they might serve edible pizza inside and spending the rest of the night on their toilet hating life.
17
The "HATE CRIME OF A SIGN" is off!!!
18
That building has been a revolving door for failed restaurants since I've been in this city.
19
It's a murder building. MURDER!
20
Amantes is a well-known front for some kind of crime org. Not sure about the other franchises, but this one definitely.
21
@18 It's been there for at least 10 years though now, hasn't it?
22
Oh man, that sign used to shine directly into my bedroom window, like to the point that I could guess what text was showing based on the amount of light. It's already been off for maybe a month now. I'm hoping it won't return, but hey, it's also not the worst trade-off for city life.
23
Hamburger Mary's coming back?!?! True story they NEVER carded and poured the stiffest Long Island's, so yeah I got a DUI from there
24
@9 Really? That car isn't blocking anything.
25
Actually, in regards to service, probably one of the best places on Capitol Hill. In regards to food, eh, so-so. Though they do make a mean bloody mary, open late, and yes, probably a front for crime org... but, I can think of some other places on the Hill that have mediocre food, terrible service, but are packed nightly with hipsters. All in all, I hope this place is here to stay and no condos go up in its place.
26
@6 & @18... this place has been there forever. Not sure where you live, but obviously not anywhere near that restaurant.
27
The food isn't great, but one time I stopped in there to watch a basketball game (before every CH bar showed sports), and I bought drinks for 3 people throughout the whole game and they only charged me like 8 bucks.

I went back another time and they gave me another huge discount. They seem to having money somehow, but I don't think it's from selling food and drinks.
28
Everyone knows it's a huge front.

The one at Green Lake is always empty too. I have forever assumed it was a front.

Please wait...
