If there’s one thing we love doing in Seattle, it’s complaining. Which could explain why nothing seems to get done around here without multiple public hearings and lengthy comment periods. If there was a public hearing on the subject, we would probably all go and complain about the overabundance of public hearings. As much fun as that would be, we have more important shit to complain about. Namely, weed.
The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board is holding a series of public hearings on their proposed rules for medical marijuana in the wake of SB 5052/HB 2136. They’ve already held meetings in several places you probably can’t find on a map, but on Monday, they'll be having one right here in Seattle, at City Hall. The meeting will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Bertha Knight Landes Room, and will be your golden opportunity to complain about anything remotely related to the new medical marijuana rules.
If you miss Monday's meeting, there will be one more meeting before the WSLCB retires to its top-secret rulemaking cave. Regrettably, it’s in Everett. More info can be found here.
