I heard it while walking the trail at Flaming Geyser State Park...something I do on my lunch break and when I go foraging for food at Green Valley Meats.

And the Green River, has turned brown...turgid from the rains, and melt:

I loved it. It reminded me of Iowa.

As a born-and-bred midwesterner I love me a thunderstorm, but my born-and-bred midwestern dog has apparently decided that they are too scary, and woke me up to whine about it. Stupid Seattle has made my tough bitch a little pussy(cat).

Remember about five years ago when we had a snowstorm with lightning right before dawn? Now, that was weird.

Probably shouldn't be happening in that climate region (historically). But I guess history is out the window at this point. I grew up in Texas and remember more than my share of "Holy Fuck! We're all gonna die storms" growing up. Grab your helmets everybody and strap in!

Gorgeous photo.
