par for the course for the Seattle-subsidized east of the state.

Yeah, can we also get Baumgartner to co-sponsor a bill that stipulates State sales tax revenue must remain in the county in which the funds are collected? After all, if he wants to keep dirty, dirty lefty influence out of his city, that would be one way to accomplish it, yes?
3
It really couldn't be more obvious that they just want wages to remain at poverty levels and they'll say anything remotely within the realm of logic to argue as much. We sure are seeing some real class from Michael: from proposing a figurative "quarantine" on Seattle, calling Spokane a Seattle "Mini-Me", and Sawant a "wanna-be". But then I was getting tired of the usual passive aggressive PC-on-the-surface political shit show anyway.

Even if you consider not all on the left to be progressives, all progressives are in fact on the left. Which makes "progressive left" as redundant as "conservative right."

Sort of like how all pinkos are commies.
5
Is this an ALEC bill? Seems like something they might peddle.
6
This is fucked up. Why do the republicans always talk about how the dems do huge over reaches of govt, and then go do huge over reaches of govt.
7
BTW, Spokane's new paid sick leave policy is basically one paid hour off for every 30 hours worked until it adds up to either 24 hours (for businesses with fewer than 10 workers) or 40 hours (businesses with more than 10 workers).

The anti-sick-leave folks are predicting an epidemic of malingering and abuse, prompting businesses to leave Spokane in droves and move outside the city limits; the pro-sick-leave folks are saying no such thing will happen. It will be interesting, for those of us who live here anyway, to see what happens.

Senator Baumgartner, Seattle liberals are going to fuck you up.
10
Oh, yes, the conservative dream: get the government off of people's backs so that the private sector can screw them instead.
11
It had better get people excited - I hope we don't have all the Democratic effort and money going into a "who's more progressive" competition in the 7th CD while Republicans are focused on swing districts in the legislature. If we take our eyes off the ball, this kind of crap could actually pass.
12
Seriously, why does the Right keep getting away with its anti-government rhetoric, but continues to do everything possible to centralize control of local economies and personal health care choices, to name but two hypocritical policy paths they follow?
13
This will do wonders for the rising population of homeless people living outside of Seattle.

Please wait...
