This is a well-written and well-considered review. Maybe your best yet. When you're not trying to be funny, you're good at your job.

my friend fred worked on this a tear or so ago. i coulda sworn it was sold out like every show. seems like you're reading some stupid pc bullshit into the story.

This is a poorly-written and ill-considered "review". You sir are a knob that wouldn't know a good time if it fell on him. We saw this a few years back and had a blast. Maybe you don't like fun?

Saw this show two or three years ago at the ACT Theater and saw it again this past weekend because I wanted to give Peachey the benefit of the doubt because I really enjoy her work at Cafe Nordo (go if you haven't she's so much better alone than she is doing Siano's shtick). Unfortunately it's still the same exploitative, lazy, amateurish mess and I say this as someone who spent 15 years working as a stripper. I hated it. My friends hated it. The people who shared our booth with us hated it. The only reason the show is so popular in Seattle is because Seattle is the only city where you can get away with shit like this because standards here are so damn low.

Well, the book was damn good at least.

@4:

Every successful purveyor of schlock, third-rate motion picture producer in Los Angeles (*cough!* Michael Bay *cough!*) thanks you for deflecting some of the heat off their sorry asses...

The pole dancer and the guest stripper were the highlights for me.
The rest felt like it appealed to an older, Seattle tourist crowd. Not really my thing, but there's plenty of Seattle tourists to sell the show out.

This show was tedious and annoying. Funny only if you are well & truly drunk (ahem, @3?). I didn't laugh once, forced myself to clap out of politeness, and felt bad for Peachey, as I had high hopes of the show knowing her pedigree. Siano's ego is big, yet vacuous. The jokes were lame (much too modern, imho, to say nothing of "bro-y"), and the "telling" style of the show was pedantic. The script left much to be desired, trying and failing to be campy, & should have elucidated the historical story with, you know, actual acting. The choreography was ok, and the dance, pole & guest performances were good, but you're better off reading Rick Andersen's book from which this is adapted than seeing this show. Yawn.
.
I also second what @7 and @4 say.
.
At least the food and drinks were good, but they weren't the performance's doing.

Rick Anderson. Sorry.

Please wait...
