That's horrible about what happened.

But fri/sat night on the hill shows that more people out isn't safer.

Lesson from Jane Jacobs -- casual "eyes on street" -- cannot be repeated & applied too often.

There are two orders of magnitude more people (at least!) on the streets of Capitol Hill than on the streets of SLU, which is a glittering desolation row at night. So much for "instant neighborhoods."
