I'm surprised the Vatican is stooping to Trump's level. Never wrestle a muddy pig; you only get filthy yourself, and the pig likes it.
2
I welcome any opportunity for Trump to alienate himself from more potential voters.
Go for it, bro!

@1: I recently heard another analogy in the same vein:

Arguing with an idiot is like trying to play chess with a pigeon. The pigeon will have no fucking clue what he's doing, he's going to get shit everywhere, and at the end he'll strut around like he won.

American Christianity is about aggressive ignorance, hatred, and the sadistic enjoyment of harming the poor and minorities, so by definition Trump is the ultimate, turbo Voltron American Christian. Heez yuuuuuuuge!!! His approval ratings are now a dumFux Nooz-approved 125%!!!

Per History.com, "following an attack by Saracen pirates that damaged St. Peter’s in 846, Pope Leo IV ordered the construction of a wall to protect the holy basilica and its associated precincts. Completed in 852, the 39-foot-tall wall enclosed what was inaugurated Leonine City, an area covering the current Vatican territory and the Borgo district. The walls were continually expanded and modified until the reign of Pope Urban VIII in the 1640s." This wall (system of walls) encloses an area of approx 0.17 sq miles. The wall was built, upgraded, and expanded at a time in history when violent militaristic or terroristic incursions were an every day fact of life. Castles were fortified to protect the wealth and lives of those inside. Trump and his crew need the enter the 21st century.

@4: SOME American Christianity is that. Maybe most.

But my Catholic Guitar-Mass childhood was most definitely not like that. Jimmy Carter's Christianity is not like that. Jim Wallis' is not like that.

But it sure feels that way most days. Conservative Christianity is loud, paranoid, judgmental, and feels free to ignore most of what Jesus actually said.

OK, what Jesus is PURPORTED to have said.
11
Best.Pope Ever!! Too bad he can't run with Bernie!the ultimate ecumenical ticket!
12
Tear down the Vatican's walls!
13
What a missed opportunity for "You ain't no Christian, bruv."
14
There goes the Catholic vote.
15
@14: oh, Lavagirl, you must not be Catholic.
16
If Christians are required to build bridges, I'm glad I'm not a Christian. However, since we have a lot of Christians in this benighted country, why are all our bridges in such bad shape? Get busy, Jesus-lovers.
17
American Catholics are far too liberal to be voting for Trump. Over 50% of US Catholics support abortion, after all.
18
I was Catholic, Max. And the Pope was not to be messed with as I remember. Being infallible and all.
19
Fuck the Pope! ...this is the same bizarro who presided over an exorcism in the Vatican. Medievalism LIVES, HALLELUJAH!!!

Donald Trump makes me ashamed to be a citizen of the nation he wants to be president of. Obama makes me proud to be a citizen of the nation he IS president of. I'll be so sorry when Mr. Obama leaves office.

At least Trump is clearly in favor of some US immigration (if the immigrants are much younger female fashion models willing to become his third wife), while the Pope doesn't allow any women to stay overnight in his country much less immigrate and has an even stricter religious test - they must be a high-ranking Catholics, although historically the Vatican has been very generous in its immigration policies towards gays (if they're closeted) and pedophiles (regardless of their recidivism), while Trump only wants an unconstitutional ban on Muslims.

So comparing the two men's immigration policies, the Pope is far more sexist and more of a religious bigot while Trump is more racist.

Not a fan of the Pope or the Vatican, but the Vatican walls are open. You can just walk into the Vatican, no passport required. Just walk in. The walls are a relic of a violent past. Comparing the Vatican walls, which anyone can pass without hardly any scrutiny at all, with building a wall along a border intended specifically to keep people out is disingenuous.

Please wait...
