We have a reading about trauma in contemporary Korea, a discussion about arts in education, a discussion with Timothy Egan in Bellevue, and more tonight.

Sarah Mangold reads at Pilot Books tonight. Mangold edits Bird Dog, a fine literary journal. She is very smart.

Wyckoff Auditorium hosts MAC McClelland, whose new book For Us Surrender Is Out of the Question is about the never-ending war in Burma and how awful it is.

And Arundhati Roy is at Town Hall. Roy's The God of Small Things is an incredible novel. Regrettably, she is not reading from a new novel tonight. Instead, she's reading from her new political book, Field Notes: Listening to Grasshoppers. Which is nice! Don't get me wrong. But please, Ms.Roy, write another novel.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
