Galleycat reports that Amazon just gave the Lambda Literary Foundation $25,000.

Lambda, a non-profit organization for the LGBT literary community, will use the grant to support its Writer's Retreat for Emerging LGBT Voices, in August. The retreat's faculty includes Nicola Griffith, Ellery Washington, and Ellen Bass.

I'm really happy to hear about this latest step in Amazon's burgeoning literary charitable donation program, but I'd still like to point out that it's a tiny drop in the bucket compared to what Amazon pays for Jeff Bezos's security in one year.
