Laura Bush's upcoming memoir, Spoken from the Heart*, is being leaked all over the media right now. One thing the media does not know yet is whether Bush actually intended for the cover of her autobiography to be so ghastly.

Some revelations: Bush writes quite a bit about the car crash that killed a friend of hers in 1963. (Bush was driving, and she ran a stoplight.)

In the aftermath all I felt was guilty, very guilty...In fact I still do. It is a guilt I will carry for the rest of my life, far more visible to me that the scar etched in the bump of my knee.**

Bush claims that she and her husband may have been poisoned at a G8 summit in Germany.

Also: Democrats are mean to her husband.

I know I'm the book guy and all, but I think I'm gonna give this one a pass. Curtis Sittenfeld already wrote the perfect Laura Bush memoir a couple years ago, anyway, in the form of a novel titled American Wife. If you're at all interested in Bush, I'd suggest you read that one instead. It'll be much more satisfying.
