Jeff Guidry reads at University Book Store today. An Eagle Named Freedom: My True Story Of A Remarkable Friendship is about Guidry's "friendship with a rescued baby eagle."

Juliet B. Schor reads at Town Hall tonight. Her book is Plenitude: The New Economics of True Wealth. It's a book that suggests we need to rethink the idea of wealth.

And Elliott Bay Book Company hosts Laura Skandera Trombley tonight. Trombley is a Mark Twain expert. Her newest one is titled Mark Twain’s Other Woman: The Hidden Story of His Final Years. It's all about the women who tended to Twain in his last years, serving as his audience and his moral support. According to the Random House website for this book, the relationship turned sour and, in the last few months of his life, Twain would host press conferences denouncing her as “a liar, a forger, a thief, a hypocrite, a drunkard, a sneak, a humbug, a traitor, a conspirator, a filthy-minded & salacious slut pining for seduction.” Sounds fascinating.
