This week in the books section, I write about three great new books by local cartoonists, in "the most aggressive show of Seattle cartooning brilliance in over a decade."

None of these books are seemingly set in Seattle (Other Lives takes place in an unnamed location resembling the same kind of hermetically sealed New Jersey of Bagge's other work), but none of them could have existed without Seattle, either.

Two of the cartoonists are old-timers who have lived in Seattle forever. One is a relative newcomer. All three books are worth your time.
