So Superboy has a tattoo, I've seen. Technically (and dorkly) speaking, HOW THE FUCK IS THAT POSSIBLE? Did someone find a Kryptonite-laced guitar string? Lead ink?

If they're using elements from Conner Kent's original story, he doesn't start off with actual Kryptonian powers, he uses his TTK to simulate them and create a force-field that makes him effectively invulnerable. So, theoretically, he could have gotten a tattoo.

Oh, they are finally launching Batwoman, but not with Greg Rucka. Interesting.

I'm still torn on the whole reboot. I get why they did it, and I think it's the best move DC could make. I really like the digital distribution plans, but I'm still burned about having all my memories of reading comics since I was a kid just wiped out. Granted, a lot of it needed to be shoveled into a furnace, but there were a number of great moments, too (primarily thinking of The Breaking of the Bat, Contagion, rebuilding Gotham City, Barbara crippled by the Joker, and the entire Gotham Central run).

But mostly I'm gritting my teeth wondering why I should get invested in a comic line when it could be rebooted in 6-12 months.

Personally, if I ran DC (like it would ever happen), I'd go for the mother of all stunts and cancel Batman, Superman, Justice League, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern for a couple of years and spin up whole new titles ranging from everyday crime stories to fantasy stories to horror to sci-fi/tech/alter-worlds. Let Marvel be the bloated multiverse of confusing stories. Let DC be the places where new stories, stories that appeal to a wide range of readers, get told.

Then fold back in the classics after those writers have a chance to serious think about new arcs and stories. Make every month an event. April. Bam! Return of Batman. May Bam! Return of Superman. And so on.

I'll still check out what DC's up to, but likely as a curious spectator watching the high-wire act.

I am very sad that they're ending Power Girl. It's been a fun and somewhat campy series. that was one of DC's better titles. Poo.

Why can't they ambiguously portray the Man of Steel as warhawk, neo-con tool of the U.S. and it's corporate interests?

It would retain the conservative fans while gaining liberal fans who want to check in and see how hilarious and weird he's become.

Superman in pegged patch-bearing jeans and a muscle T, with a scarf instead of a cape? I wonder, if his face weren't in shadow would we see the handlbar mustache?

I joke, but I'm all for it. In my view Superman can never try on too many outfits. The 1941 Fleischers just showed up on Netflix streaming, so the other night I lost an entire round of wee small hours to the all the great costumes and sets and style style style.

Wow, imagine what would happen to those poor fanboys' heads if they ever found out Supes was created by a couple of lower-middle-class Jews from Cleveland, of all places!

And Rags Morales is the artist for Grant's liberal Superman. Look at that fucking beautiful drawing!

Please wait...
