Rucka is pretty great. He writes great female characters. The Atticus Kodiak(stupid name) books are super fun but the book Shooting at Midnight starring a ancillary character from the Kodiak novels is an exceptional thriller.

OK next time you want to venture out into different territory you might enjoy, based on this review, Cold, Cold Ground by Adrian McKinty. He's an Irish crime fiction writer who's got plenty of deserved acclaim from the old country. I believe CCG will be in Amazon US shortly.

Sounds like why I enjoy the Joe Ledger series by Jonathan Maberry. Violent, frenetic action without all the right wing armchair strategizing. Plus: zombies, engineered plagues, etc. Great stuff.
