Say what you will about Chuck Palahniuk—and I’ve said a whole lot about his last few, very awful novels—but the man is a brilliant reader of his own work; he’s definitely in my top 10 readers to see live. And this event for the “remixed” version of his best novel, Invisible Monsters, should be Palahniuk at his finest. It’s not just that he famously causes members of his audience to vomit and faint when he reads his scarier work—he’s also patient, humble, and hilarious when it comes time for audience questions, too.
