That's a lovely place to have a reading. Though what it's across from is not so much Volunteer Park as it is Lakeview Cemetery, worth mentioning in this instance not only because I am a nudge but because it is the final resting place of Denise Levertov.

@1 Good points, all. It has been changed!
3
The map on StrangerTickets doesn't point to anything near Lakeview Cemetery...
4
Damn. All that and picnic baskets too. I'm tempted to fly to Seattle just for the day.
5
Picnic baskets? I'm in!
6
NYC has a topless coed pulp fiction reading group. It has a blog. With pictures. Can't we have that?
7
Put a little DEET on... at Volunteer this evening the mosquitos were huge and thirsty.
8
Tickets for the baskets are "no longer available"; does this mean they're sold-out, or can we buy them at 5pm at the park?
9
I can't believe I didn't recognize the pic right away, but my under-aged self downed many, many a Mickey's bigmouth and Laser 40oz and that locale.
10
Losers, it's almost time!

I can't make it tonight, but please do this again. Maybe as before the weather sours or as an annual event...?

I went (my first time) and it was WONDERFUL. Read Nancy Guppy's hilarious self-interview and political articles, will go bookish next time. Please do it again soon -- the first week of October will still be warm enough for a repeat outdoor party. Again, sweet!

I don't understand how it was silent, but there was a cello.

Please wait...
