For months, novelist Ryan Boudinot has worked tirelessly to have Seattle recognized as a UNESCO City of Literature. Tonight, Boudinot will lay out the contents of our submission to the United Nations. If Seattle wins this bid, we’ll be a part of a broader community of international artists, and the city will gain the attention it deserves as a global hub of literature. Presenters include memoirist Elissa Washuta, host Brian McGuigan, publisher Gary Luke, and the needs-no-introduction Nancy Pearl. Attendance is mandatory for book-lovers; this is city history in the making. (Town Hall, 1119 Eighth Ave, townhallseattle.org, 7:30 pm, free)
