This week, the APRIL Festival is hosting events all around town, and they’re all worth your time. But this one holds a special place in my heart, because it’s headlined by two of the hottest up-and-comers in Seattle literature. Shin Yu Pai wrote a great book of poetry about the pain and heartbreak of moving to Appalachia titled Aux Arcs. Zubair Ahmed is the ridiculously young author of one of the very first books of poetry from McSweeney’s, City of Rivers. It’s a sneak preview of the future of Seattle literature on one bill.
