So from this one particular house the view to the lighthouse will go away? Whats the big deal? It's not like the lighthouse is being torn down, you can still see it from lots of places...

I thought we were pro-density. If this is a big apartment building going up won't more people be able to enjoy the view than the few houses that had it before?

If the block of flat is built, the view of Godrevy Lighthouse that Virginia Woolf had from her summertime childhood home, Talland House will be destroyed. Thousands of readers and scholars of Woolf visit St. Ives to see Talland House and enjoy its view every year. It is a piece of literary history. Cecil Woolf, her nephew, said he is appalled by the plan and described it as an act of "sheer vandalism." I agree.
