I'm so in. If you read just one of Stephenson's books, you really have no idea if you like his work, because they are all so different from each other. Some are interesting failures, about half achieve heights that put them alongside the very best writing across all genres, and a few tower above all but the greats. Pretty good batting average. I'm not aware of any other authors who have as much breadth in style, form, and content. I'm always excited when a new Stephenson book comes out.

Stephenson's prose is delicious, literally. As in when I read it I get a mild synesthetic sense of savory with a satisfying crunch. DFW will sometimes have the same effect on me. Yay to this.
