Hmm, an attorney who criminally forges campaign finance reports to receive public money, gets caught and claims racial persecution. Just the kind of accountability practiced by the current Seattle City Council. What a shame she was not elected.
This story shows how difficult it is to get in trouble for breaking the rules of the Democracy Voucher Program. I write a blog on government corruption, and I covered a story about Council Position 9 candidate Lorena Gonzalez who cheated by claiming that she'd gone to three qualifying forums during the primary, when she'd gone to only one. The Ethics and Elections agree that she'd had met the requirements, but they let her participate in the program anyway. –David Preston

@7 and @8: Some things are worth repeating, even if you did so inadvertently.
Lorena Gonzalez (who is also an attorney) didn’t even get a slap on the wrist from the city’s ineffectual Elections and Ethics Commission. They patted the back of her hand instead.
Our Democracy needs Sheley.
