This is so cringe.

re: pizza boxes

Often you can simply separate the top and bottom, the clean top goes into recycling, the greasy bottom goes into food waste.

re: roommate with the tv on

Show him the portion of the power bill that shows the average cost and use per day. Ask him what he thinks are the main sources are in their place. Or, see if your power company has a day by day usage breakdown online. If so, see if there are days listed where the tv was off all day, did that affect usage much? (You could also get one of those devices that lets you measure use - does the library still have those available?)

Thank you Drippy for the clear explanations. Much appreciated. Keep up the good work.

Good morning leaky! Just one quick question: I see that TS is now monthly as a real paper (Just ads I'm sure, but still). So, what is the carbon price and climate damage involved here, and yes, I do realize that we can recycle paper (or wrap fish or line a bird cage) but most people won't?

Unless you've got a computer in your toaster, unplugging it when not in use will not save you one single penny in electrical cost.
