Gilette seized upon this as an opportunity to sell more razors. They advertised that women could shave their legs and draw pantyhose lines with an eyeliner pencil to recreate the same effect. Stylish even during wartime!

Soon, it became less a creative solution and more an obligation for every woman, every patch, every day. Now the boys are catching up.
