NEWS: This week The Stranger's alleged news squad offers up two decent pieces and one ugly one. The decent: ERICA C. BARNETT's exemplary coverage of Monday's anti-anti-illegal immigration march (or some such nonsense), as well as THOMAS FRANCIS's fine reporting on alleged racism by Sound Transit. The ugly: JOSH FEIT's wishful-thinking fantasy rant about the Democratic Party's hopes for gaining power and influence in the local suburbs. Dream on, Feit. You lefty freaks can keep your stinking cities, but the suburbs belong to the righteous.

SHORT FEATURE: Democratic QuagmireAt first blush, this piece by ELI SANDERS appears to be yet more puffery on Stranger political darling and congressional hopeful Darcy Burner. But dig a little deeper—always a treacherous proposition with The Stranger—and you'll find a piece that's actually critical of the Democratic Party. How did it happen? The early assumption is that Mr. Sanders, and perhaps even his editor Dan Savage, were struck on their melons by some sort of heavy object. Whatever the case, the piece is worth a read (or perhaps it is I who received the head wound?).

FEATURE: Cross PurposesERICA C. BARNETT takes a breather from spilling endless barrels of ink about the viaduct to tackle this paper's other obsession: the vilification of Christianity. While her complaints are not without merit (certain aspects of modern-day Christianity are unsavory even to a devout person such as myself), whatever insight she has to offer is unfortunately undermined by The Stranger's hostility toward religion in general, and America's #1 religion in particular. Enjoy the flames of hell, Ms. Barnett.
